Groothandel Claessens is moving to Tienen and continues its ambitious growth plan
Groothandel Claessens announces its move from Zoutleeuw to Tienen in 2027. With this strategic step, the family-owned company is investing in a more modern, spacious and efficient facility that will support its growth, employment opportunities and service.
Groothandel Claessens, a well-established name in the fresh food sector for more than thirty years, is taking an important step towards the future. The new location in Tienen offers significantly more space for storage, processing and logistics. This will allow the company to serve its customers, from hospitality businesses and retailers to company kitchens, even faster and more flexibly. A modern Cash & Carry will also be established, accessible to both B2B and B2C customers, inspired by the successful concept in Antwerp.
The move is part of a broader vision for growth and employment. Thanks to the additional capacity, Groothandel Claessens will not only have room to expand further, but will also create new opportunities to strengthen its team. This growth will result in additional jobs in areas including logistics, sales, production, administration and the Cash & Carry concept. “With this investment, we are building towards a future in which we can not only expand our activities, but also create new opportunities for people within our company,” says managing director Tom Claessens.
Groothandel Claessens is also continuing to develop its digital services. The webshop was recently renewed, with a more user-friendly platform for both professional and private customers. This makes it even easier for customers to access the company’s range and services online.
The additional capacity will also create new opportunities for the cutting workshop and private-label production, a rapidly growing part of the company. Thanks to the expansion, Groothandel Claessens will be able to offer even more customised solutions, seasonal products and innovative fresh concepts. “We want to inspire our customers and make things easier for them. The new site gives us the space to do exactly that and to continue growing as a team,” says sales manager Pieter De Witte.
The preparations for the move will take place in phases, ensuring that customers can continue to rely on the familiar service until the transition. Deliveries, orders and production will continue as usual until the new site in Tienen officially opens.
The official move is planned for early 2027. Customers and partners who would like more information about the transition, the Cash & Carry offering or future collaborations can contact contact@groothandelclaessens.be.
Groothandel Claessens looks forward to welcoming everyone to Tienen soon.
